Description
Honoring the gutsy big wave surfers who gather each winter at Mavericks, an off the coast location just North of Half Moon Bay, CA. The unusual rock formation at the bottom of the sea combine with storm swells to create waves that top at 80 feet, surfing these mountains of water is so challenging that only a few will brave them.
All of Sergio Lub's designs are handcrafted the old fashioned way, starting from solid metal wires. We use no plating, no casting and no machine stamping, all industrial techniques that save time, but compromise quality. The red metal is 99.99% Copper, lead free, the best available. Copper is one of the friendliest elements as it combines with many others. To find copper this in nature is more difficult than finding gold. The yellow metal is Jeweler's Brass, an alloy of 85% copper and 15% zinc, both essential minerals worn since prehistoric times by many non-related cultures around the world. Science has proven that metals such as copper are absorbed through the skin, so besides their beauty, our bracelets can also be considered a time-release source of essential minerals.
The white metal is German silver, which is 65% copper plus zinc, nickel and silver. Some of our "silver" models are made using sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver, with copper added for strength.
